See spectacular sunrises over the Atlantic from the comfort of your own bed, spot a whale or an iceberg from two ocean view decks, or walk down to the waterfall. Pick your own blueberries for breakfast. Head down the hill to Brigus Cove and watch the fishing boats or examine the tidepools.
Our brand new home features 3 bedrooms, each with a queen bed and bathroom, two suites upstairs and one downstairs. The two upstairs suites also have adjoining smaller rooms with a twin bed each, suitable for children or single travelers. Each suite has ocean and cove views, and one side also has waterfall views. The upstairs suites open onto a library/sitting room. There are hardwood floors and antiques throughout the house, and the master bath features a clawfoot tub as well as a shower (the upstairs baths have oversized showers only).
Anchor Rock Lookout has all the comforts of home, with a full kitchen stocked with basic provisions, a washer and dryer, satellite tv and dvd players in the great room and in each of the three larger bedrooms, and a stereo with I-Pod dock. There is a large barbeque on the main deck along with chairs, and two rocking chairs on the upper deck.
Anchor Rock Lookout is perched above the tiny outport village of Brigus South, just a 45 minute drive south of St. John’s, on the Irish Loop. The house is just off the East Coast Trail and you can hike to La Manche Provincial Park to the north, or Admiral’s Cove and Cape Broyle to the south. A drive of less than 10 minutes will get you to world class ocean kayaking at Cape Broyle. A few minutes further on is the historic town of Ferryland, featuring the Avalon Colony archeological dig, Lighthouse Picnics and a dinner theatre.
